Mayor’s Race & Wellness Festival: A Healthy Planet Healthy You Event

The City of Palm Springs, as part of their Healthy Planet Healthy You initiative will be presenting the 4th Annual Mayor’s Race and Wellness Festival, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Wellness Park adjacent to Ruth Hardy Park. World-renowned fitness speaker and wellness expert, Scott Cole, will return as Master of Ceremonies for the festival.
Mr. Cole is a former National Aerobic Champion, star of the iconic Abs of Steel videos, and a lecturer/motivator in over 30 countries. Scott is the creator and star of America’s top-selling Discover Tai Chi DVD series, and his numerous published products include Yoga Tai Chi, Millennium Stretch, Best Abs on Earth, Disco Dojo, and the award-winning Get Fit America For Kids (Winner of NAPPA Best Children’s Fitness DVD). Scott considers no audience off limits, and has dedicated his life to increasing "wellness literacy" for all ages.

This rapidly growing race and festival are part of the Clinton Foundation, Clinton Health Matters Initiative and funded in part by the Desert Healthcare Foundation. With over 80 health, wellness and sustainability booths with interactive displays, food samples and a variety of giveaways, this event is quickly becoming one of the largest of its kind in Southern California. The festival is FREE, Open to the Public and suitable for all ages.
The racecourse runs through all of the most scenic areas of uptown and downtown with spectacular mountain views and historic architecture with the 10 Mile race starting at 7:30 AM, 5K starting at 8:00AM and the Kids 1K Fun Run starting at 9:30 AM. Every registrant receives breakfast served by our local Lion’s Club and a finisher’s medal.
